Too Much Homework

Is homework messing up your plans for when you get dismissed from school? I attend P.S.161.Queens public school and I get a lot of homework from my teacher Mr. Byrd, and he even gives the class homework in the last month of school. This is just messed up and very disturbing also kids should be free of homework for the last month of school and even the whole year. While I’m at it, homework is taking away our free time after school. Teachers think that homework helps kids learn while they’re out of school.

But research says that teachers at the Berkley collage refused to give their students homework because their student have other majors in collage such as science. So the teachers don’t want to put a lot of stress on their students. Researches prove that 76% of parents think that homework is a waste of time because half of the kids in the U.S don’t do their homework. Some influential researchers say homework does little to improve a student's academic abilities. Others believe homework is excessive, and doing more harm than good. Often, for busy, stressed-out parents and struggling children, homework is a major source of tension.

The board or education say’s how one inner-city school's careful use of homework can be a lifeline to some children struggling to keep up. Teachers are using homework as a way to involve parents as helpers and motivators, and even offers "homework classes" to parents who want to learn how to better help their children.

Homework is intended to reinforce classroom learning, and help students keep up with their studies. But for the students in poorer school districts with the fewest resources, homework can actually cause students to fall even farther behind. Somebody please shoot me. When will these teachers learn? Homework is not the answer.
