Raise the Legal Driving Age to 18!

The legal driving age should be raised to 18 because the road is an unsafe place for young adults. They are more likely to drive when they are tired. They could also speed. Teenagers driving die younger and have more injuries. Teens driving shouldbe careful while driving on the road.

Teens are more likely to drive when they are sleepy. They may fall asleep causing distractions to other drivers. 24% of teens are more tired during the summer while they are driving. Teens should be awake while driving.

Teens are speeding and having races on the road. Teens are speeding and have no control. A teen in Indiana was speeding on a four-lane highway so he would make his curfew. He went 142 miles per hour.  Speeding drivers are a distraction to others. Drivers focus on the speeder and not the road. Speeding causes accidents and injuries. A teen speeding causes some lives of drivers.

Teens driving die younger and have more injuries. 16 year-olds have higher crash rates than any other drivers of any other age. A seventeen-year-old driver smashed into another vehicle causing injuries. 3,467 drivers ages 15-17 died in car crashes in 2005. Their lives are shortening while they are driving.

Either change the driving age to 18 or face the consequences from teen drivers. Once a teen wakes up and starts to drive is a big mistake. Speed limit signs are nothing to 16 year-olds. Teens driving have a shorter life span. Teens should be alert when driving.
