Underage Drinking and Drugs
The Story of Teens Below the Influence
If your child is doing drugs and getting drunk everyday; what would you do? Underage Drinking and Drugs occurs more and more in America. “Millions of teenagers between the ages of 11-17 are influenced to get high and get drunk by people that inspire them.” I got this information from www.focusas.com and was written by Joseph A. Califano JR. and Nick Lebelle. The topic of the article was Alcohol, Drugs, and Teen Drinking. If I had a role model, I would choose a person who makes the right decisions in their lives. Those people are people to look up to, not a junkie who wastes their lives away. Not a person who depends on Alcohol and Drugs. Look at some of these teens that are below the influence, even adults! These are their stories….
“Most Americans who do drugs have a 50% chance that they could catch HIV/AIDS from sharing needles with someone who has it”.(www.fousas.com.) Drugs are very dangerous because it causes physical and mental diseases such as illusions, schizophrenia (seeing and hearing things), kills brain cells, and has failures with your vital organs (lungs, kidneys, immune system). I heard a story about drugs. . The death rate to drug overdoses on drugs have double the value during the last 10 years. A woman named Dea died of a Heroin but the funny thing was that her best friend was just recovering from the addiction of heroin. Dea’s best friend got the chance to live because she got the chance to live, because she made the right decision. Millions of people die because Underage teens do drugs. If teens and adults can’t take care of themselves, they have no reason to live in this world. The world is full of people, but we don’t know the real situation of everybody’s lives. “75% of people say that Underage Teens do Drugs to feel the high of Drugs.”(www.fousas.com.) Why are Drugs more important to teens that do Drugs than their own lives?
“ Most Americans who drink do it to let out their emotions”. (www.fousas.com.) Underage drinking is very dangerous just like drugs. People lose lives because of diseases caused by drinking. You could die from kidney failure if you drink too much. People lose loved ones family, friends, because of the addiction of drinking. Underage drinking and drinking in general is very dangerous! A boy on spring break was driving on the highway. A drunk driver hit him. He was on his way to have fun and live his life, but it all ended in less than 20 minutes! People think they know what it is like but they really don’t know. If people know how bad it is, why do they continue to do it?
I believe that underage drinking and drugs is a really bad thing to do because it costs lives of many innocent people. People may not agree with me because they are too high or too drunk to even think about the good things and the right things for their lives. People also do these things because they are very depressed. Older people may do drugs or get drunk maybe because of divorces, losing something special, or aren’t happy with themselves. That’s the same thing teens do. They do drugs and get drunk maybe because the way they think. They probably think the wrong way. People probably use drinking and drugs as something to sooth their hearts. They know that it is wrong but to them drugs or drinking is an oral fixation. You try to let it go but you can’t fight the addition. People who do these things, especially teens, need love. I disagree with my other side because drinking and drugs can kill you and then when they die, they wonder why they did it. Most children who are the age of 13 start doing drugs or start drinking. Why can’t people change for the good?
During my editorial, I have showed you what underage drinking and drugs is and how it is dangerous. I still think that underage Drinking and Drugs is the worst thing to do next to dropping out of school and wasting their lives away. Love is an addiction. If we could show love to people with addictions, maybe we could change them. Trying to change your life is an effort but when you don’t care about life, life won’t care about you. Losing a life is irreplaceable, but helping yourself is like a new day! To parents who have teens, or know anybody who continues to get high and drunk daily, I have one question for you….
Does that person have a future?
