"Relations"

6-Room Memory Poem

This kid… There’s something about him…

When I look into his eyes, man it’s so grim

You can tell he has a wound, in his heart,

As the other kids mock him cause he feels less smart

Callin’ him insults, callin’ him names,

Gets into fights, but everybody makes claims

So, so sad, it makes me feel bad,

He tells me to stay glad, what an unfortunate lad

Like I think I want to have the guts to ha-ppily strut,

But there’s somethin’ a-bout him, I just don’t know what

Wait! He’s like me! I can relate,

It’s some-thin’ I really don’t wanna debate

We feel left behind, all-the-o-thers,

We were the weird whizzy Willy with wet water wacky Walter Brothers

We were so alike, we were like twins,

“Oh God, forgive me! Cleanse my sins!”

I mean it felt so bad…to the extreme,

Soon as I went home, ‘Dang!’ I just wanted to scream!

(CLAP!)

You know I didn’t sit in a pool of fire and burn,

Made the tables spin, started to learn,

‘fore you know it, status started to turn,

I had to yearn, to turn, to learn, it was stern.

(CLAP & SNAP! Clap with it come on!)

Now I can be smart, I will go to college,

Now I’m for that extra bit ou’ some knowledge

Growin’ miles by day all from that tallage,

Now I think I’ll go to the club for ballage!

Never think that you are in the world a-lone,

Make yourself useful, you exist, you have a-home

Just as Kira combo kicks crazy Cali-kangaroos,

You can score a life bonus, just don’t let people make you lose
