Graffiti Must Stop

Our community is going down!!  Some people from the street don’t know what  to do, gang members are writing graffiti on our houses and buildings. I don’t understand why people would draw graffiti? People writing graffiti brings a lot of problems to our community among gang members and to community citizens’ .Gang members’ use

their graffiti to mark their territory so that other gangs know that is their turf and when other gangs don’t respect this is when this brings problems among gang members.

         This article that I read in the web stated  that last weeks, vandals have spray painted walls and buildings all over central Austin causing a lot of damage. Austin's City Manager reportedly blames the increase in graffiti activity on budget cuts in the past few years, leaving the city with only one graffiti cleaner to handle it all this is according to  www.Graffitiinformation.com

             Now the word graffiti relates to the hip hop style which evolved from rap music back in the early 70s. It all started with two New York artists: Keith Haring and Demetrius, they both posted various posters of unusual charachters in public areas in the city, and began drawing on walls in the subway damaging a lot of buildings and public places.

            People try to help our community, if we achieve to band graffiti our community will be clean. Defacing private property don’t ignore it speak out because our buildings and communities will get damage if nothing is say or done. Graffiti is unacceptable because it damages community by putting the community ugly and the buildings looking  old and rotten .If we don’t help and start to speak out they will continue writing graffiti, so we need to stop that now.

                According to Chief "This was about kids expressing themselves. The gang community communicates through graffiti,"  In my opinion gangs should use another way to communicate because they’re using a negative way to express their feelings and damaging our society.
